Beginner Sewing Series

Thank you so much for your interest in sewing classes! Currently, I am on hiatus from teaching. I’m so sorry. If you’d like to stay in touch, please sign up for the newsletter below. I will announce if classes and private lessons will resume. Thank you so much!

I recommend Beehive Craft Studio and Ronkita for class offerings.

The 3-Class Beginner Sewing Series is perfect for absolute beginners, or as a refresher course from that Home-Ec class you took way back when. It’s designed to gradually ramp up foundational skills with super-fun projects, leaving you with the confidence to take on all kinds of projects on your own.

In this series, you’ll make friends with your sewing machine and get to know its settings and accessories.

Class 1: You’ll whip up a technique-packed drawstring bag in Class 1.

Class 2: You’ll make a stylish Pillow with Button Closures. Learn about pinning, cutting, grain lines, making buttonholes and the proper ways to sew on a button.

Class 3: Make a simple A-line or straight skirt drafted from your measurements with elastic waist and side seam inset pockets. Or you can make a great bag and learn about interfacing, grading seams, and making a lining with a patch pocket. Choose from 3 different bag styles: bucket tote, a foldaway grocery tote, or a curved top handbag.

Three 3.5-hour classes - 3 Students - $150 per student - NOTE: For weekday evening classes, it is possible to shift to a 6:30 start time per request.

No prerequisites. Learn on your machine or rent one of mine for a $5. Fee covers all three classes.
